Step-by-Step Guide: SMS Setup
The following article provides a clear, step-by-step walkthrough to help you correctly configure your SMS notifications.
Engagement Builder: Your notifications, your way.
First of all, let me introduce you to the basics:
- Workflow name: here you can choose the name for your workflow. That will help you with better insight as you can create few workflows t.ex. Missed calls, Answered calls, if you have special campaigns and you want to track them separately etc.
- Apply in: sometimes you don't want to include all accounts in this workflow, and you can change so it suits your business. You can either select all accounts or certain accounts. But if you want to use the workflow for almost all accounts but exclude it in one or two (or more) you can tick "Exclude accounts" and there you'll see the option to choose which ones you want to exclude from this workflow.
-
Event and criteria: here's where the fun part begins! Now you decide the conditions when the SMS will be sent.
In the drop down menu, you'll get to choose when in what situation an SMS should be sent - there are various options, you can set up your own custom field or choose a default such as when a call ends and then choose further options, such as calls based on a certain call duration time or even from specific media.
- Delivery method:
Since we're talking about the emails, you'll have to choose the "Send an SMS" option in the drop down menu.
The To section, is where the SMS will be sent to, you could as example send the SMS to the end number connected to the Kaisa number called or perhaps you want an SMS sent to the caller of the number. If you click on the macros tab in green you can also see other alternatives which may be of interest.
The From section, can show the receiver of the SMS where/whom the SMS is from, or the title of the SMS you wish to send. This is limited to 11 characters.
The Text message section, is where the message you wish to send should go. You can write anything you wish and you can combine it with our macros that will help you with the information like date and time, end number, Kaisa number, URL etc. More on macros, check this article
You can add attachments, logos to your email as well.
The Unsubscribe link description: Defaults as "Unsubscribe here: " and follows with an unsubscribe link.
